Have you played Tenzi??? It’s super fun. A dice game that’s kind of like a family friendly bunco. That’s our current favorite

Why does summer give me so much anxiety, especially with work??Uhhhh bc it’s mother effing INSANE!!!!!! I did 5 drop offs and 5 pick ups today with work in between. First drop off was at 7am for swim team. Last pick up was at 4pm from kid #1 camp.
I’ve pretty much accepted defeat. I can only do so much and something is going to come crashing down.
I clearly have no advice but solidarity -
Electric Scooters & Bikes - thoughts? My 2nd grader wants one so bad but he’s so damn impulsive we can’t do it. I have visions of him going right in front of a car.
I also think it can give some younger kids too much freedom. They should only be able to go as far as their little legs can carry them.
No opinion on older kids as we aren’t there yet -
Your go to evening healthy-ish sweet treatI eat my kids fruit leather. I discovered a new one from Costco that hits the spot most evenings. I’ll have to find the link. It has a white package/box

My Kids Seeking Connection and Need IdeasSo hard when it feels like there’s not enough of you to go around. I have girls, ideas below!
My younger kids love spot it, slamwich, puzzles, coloring, making bracelets with pipe cleaners and big beads, old maid, magnetites, being pushed on the swing, riding scooters, guess who.
My older kids like ticket to ride junior, catan, friendship bracelets, jump rope, dominoes, any type of science experiment kit, foil art, bead animal kit, making fortune tellers, roller skating. They all love when I get in the water to swim, when I jump on the trampoline, baking together, playing any of the above games together.

Tonsillectomy tips- 6 year oldDefinitely no spicy food or crunchy food for quite sometime. My son ate a pepperoni at 10ish days out and it burned him so bad. Stay on the med schedule, wake them up and don’t get behind.
Also no citrus-that would burnnnnnnn -
Husband is DepressedWe’ve been there. Things got really bad and desperate and I basically had to say “start therapy or we need time apart.”
Painful for everyone but also painful for everyone to watch him continue a downward spiral.
He’s doing MUCH better now.
Sorry you’re going through this -
Credit Card Amount per month?First time in a while we haven’t been able to fully pay off our credit card for the month. Averaging about 18-21k a month. Kids are damn expensive!!!!

Summer babysitting ratesIt’s so expensive. We also do hourly bc I try to cut my working hours shorter during the summer as I work from home. I think if I was needing 9-5pm care I would do a flat rate. But could get tricky if sitter gets sick or has to miss for any reason

Best Protein Powder for Smoothies?ISO 100 by Dymatize. The fudge brownie flavor tastes like chocolate milk. Milk based but easily the most high end of the whey category of protein. We don’t have lactose issues and it’s been a good option for the fam bc it’s VERY easily absorbed by the body and high quality. Their fruity Pebbles flavor is my kids favorite but may (or may not?) be the best in smoothies. My husband played in the NFL and it was in his locker room which is how we know about it.

Legit Nervous for SummerI have elementary aged kids and as Summer approaches I’m finding myself panicking a bit. I love my children but 3 months in the heat while balancing work is just a lot. I wish we could spend the Summer traveling but it’s not in the cards for us, we have one vacation planned to look forward to.
Any advice for how to make it through?

Best Credit Card?Chase Sapphire is what we have for my business and I like it because we can transfer the points basically anywhere

Family RV RentalsI’ve also heard great things about outdoorsy, and there’s another one called rvezy or if you are in Austin. Austin.firesidervrental.com
I wouldn’t label myself as outdoorsy and we actually had a really good experience and I want to do it again sometime. I think mountains in the summer would be perfect
