What's new on the parenting and baby scene? Looking for all the new and improved baby gadgets and formulas. The age gap between my middle and youngest isn’t quite as big, but bigger than my first two so we were still able to use the stuff we had from my first. I found this little seat (bonus that it’s cheap!) to be a big help bc baby brother wanted to be propped up and watching what everyone was doing (all the chaos). It folds and travels easily. I would also check out The Car Mom bc she seems to have branched a bit away from just cars. I’ve noticed she talks a lot about different car seats, including other brands that rival the Doona, so may have some tips. And definitely invest in a good baby carrier bc baby will live in that during all the activities / sporting events / etc. for your older one(s). Mine did haha. But good luck and congrats!!

Husband is DepressedThis was my husband last summer. We were also adjusting to 3 kids, all the activities, etc. While this isn’t a new suggestion, we did couple counseling and it helped tremendously. I will say that it’s very important to find the right therapist. We’d done it before several years back and that guy wasn’t a good fit. However, this time my husband really liked who we saw, and what she said resonated with him. She forced him to talk about his feelings and get things out in the open (he tends to hold onto emotions and they basically fester inside). Know y’all aren’t alone and he’s very lucky to have a partner that’s looking out for him 🩷 Best of luck and happy to share my therapist’s info if needed (female, virtual only, accepts insurance).

VaccinationWe are fully vaccinated over here, and this is my reasoning: I’m going to listen to the people who have spent thousands of hours in labs, written / read medical journals, dedicated years studying chemistry and biology and medicine, and are the experts on this one specific thing. Scientists (not referring pediatricians) have dedicated their lives to this and are truly recommending what is best for children (and the human population). Pediatricians are following the recommendations of these experts. If you have concerns or questions, that’s totally valid!! It’s hard as parents making big decisions like this for our kids. But I would recommend scheduling time with your medical provider and talking with them. I’m sure they could provide answers and maybe even options to ease your worries, because you won’t be the first (or last) that brings this up to them.

Pierced Ears HelpGot my oldest’s ears pierced in November 2023. They told us not to put anything on them except spray some saline morning and night. No rubbing alcohol or ointment or anything. Not sure if that might help? I also got her a pair of earrings at Hey Rowan for Christmas and they had a cute selection and they’re high quality earrings. They might have suggestions on what metal to put / not to put in her ears right now. I did make my daughter wait about 9 months before changing them (mine got infected as a kid from changing too early so I did everything opposite for her haha).
