I am looking for a non-toxic, preferably organic, kids mattress. I know kids need firmer mattresses, but I am unsure if I should get one specifically for kids or if they could use any. Does anyone have any suggestions of ones you love? I know Avocado, Green Mattress and Naturpedic are choices people like but they are SO expensive. Do any more budget friendly options exist?!

Are you a costco member, if so we got our Avocado mattress from Costco on sale! That being said, I am more of team naturepedic!

Also heard good things about White Lotus Home and Hapsy - both non toxic.

Lots of brands have green/natural lines but only naturepedic has legit certification. Other than that, other things to look for in a mattress would be stay away from foam. Consider a coil/spring mattress if you are worried about the chemicals in foam mattresses.

I love Novilla mattresses- budget friendly and organic! Another good one to look into would be "my green mattress".

We love our Saatva youth hybrid mattress and our naturepedic!!!

Most mattresses are made from polyurethane or memory foam (which is made from polyurethane). You want to stay away from those.

@MotherShip the kids and youth mattresses mostly say until 12. Surely they're fine past then too right?

We like our naturepedic! They have one for kids that has one side that’s waterproof which is nice for night potty training.
