Hi! We have two sons - one is a summer birthday June, and the other is May. Would love any advice on sending our son to kinder on time and him being on the younger side, or holding him back and him being much older. There are no signs around academics or social that would come into play. Hoping for those moms with older kids to offer advice who have been through it!

Summer Baby - send to kinder or no? -
Lice help!!The dreaded lice...all 3 of my children HAD lice and little did I know I had it as well. My husband of course got away without having it! Lice Fairies in Austin TX was a life saver... we went into the salon and they removed everyone's lice.

Also there's a lice company that comes to your house that my friend had great experience with: https://www.licedoctors.com/locations/austin#:~:text=Contact LiceDoctors today at 512,embrace a lice-free lifestyle!

Kindergarten Help!Agree with the above! Have patience for the first 1-4 months. I think the transition depends on if your child has been in a full time daycare, or more like a mother's day out. Our son still napped (shocking) so we had a bit of a transition as he was exhausted! There were LOTS of emotions those first couple of months. I always greeted him at the bus or as soon as he walked in with a snack with some type of protein, he was starving.
Also, it helps to have a few familiar faces before they start the year. If you know any kids that will be going to kinder with yours I would get together with them.

Weaning off steroid, specifically floventHi! Our little girl was put on a steroid inhaler "flovent" after having a few respiratory viruses and RSV. We worked with a pulmonologist and he recommended flovent 2 times daily. I did it for awhile, but I do NOT want my 9 month old on a steroid for the next 2 years. When asked about weaning, he was very defensive and tried to make me feel bad and not recommend it. Hoping someone has had experience with Flovent and getting off of it!!

Going from 2 kids to 3I think it’s all relevant, our hardest transition was going from none to 1, because we were both a bit selfish with our time. I will say when that 3rd one comes, taking 2 to do anything seems WAY easier. 3 got easier when our youngest turned 2, and everyone was out of diapers! You can do it mama, those 3rd born are something special!!!

Looking to cut down on alcohol in 2025.I typically like to start the year with a whole 30 in January that helps me kickstart my no drinking for January, and then I tend to cut back the next 6 months.
Mocktails are a “go to” at any dinner or social event. Also- as the above mom mentioned I like CBD drops, or CBD gummies. If you are local to Austin you can get them at people’s pharmacy!

How did I get the job of Summer Camp Bitch?I LOL at your question… summer time bitch really sums it up! I think it’s because if we left it up to them our kids would be in front of a screen 9-5, eating whatever the heck they want. But really, not sure my husband even would begin to know where to start.

How often are you invited?I do feel like my invites definitely got less from the friends that only had 1-2 kids when I have 3. That being said, I have many friends that have 4 kids and still get invited places. Do you feel that it’s maybe a certain group of friends that act this way and that’s just their personality?
If so, maybe stick to inviting the arms wide opening family friendly families that welcome the extra chaos :))

Casper Mattress?I don’t know how type A you are but I did a lot of researching on this website!!!
https://mattressunderground.com/
The reviews are all over the place on the Casper so I really think it’s all about how you sleep and what position. If you are tummy or side - you def want a bit firmer. I am a stomach sleeper and went with a firmer mattress

Leaving Workforce/ SAHM - advice!Coming in here late, there's already LOTS of great advice. My motherhood motto in life and when making hard decisions is find out what gives you the LEAST amount of anxiety. For example, for me the anxiety of having to cut back significantly on our lifestyle and way of spending was the reason while I stayed in my career. That being said, there are VERY flexible jobs that are not so high paced and high stress (tech start-up - been there before WOOF its rough)!! On another note would love to hear about companies that are family/mother friendly, maybe I will start another post on that!
