So my husband grew up going to overnight summer camp and I did not. We have a soon to be second grade daughter and wondering about overnight summer camp next summer. Not sure I love the idea of it. Anyone have general advice on this topic? Would love any insight for both sides of the argument!

Here for the answers, I was all about summer camp for awhile but now I question everything in today's society/world!!! I think it's important to do your research on the camps, and look up any background information if they have ever been flagged for anything, that HAS to be recorded.

Every kid is so different, we sent our kids once we felt that they had the confidence to speak up and say "no" if they were ever put in a comfortable situation. What I've found is it's sad, but sometimes the cheaper camps are the worst ones in regards to kids being mean, discipline and counselor responsibility.
